Since Peggy Sugarhill brought her New Rockabilly “op Kölsch” to the stage for the first time with the Rockemarieche in 2014, she has been causing quite a stir in the Cologne music scene with her all-girl band.

Their songs are inspired by everyone from Chuck Berry to Beyoncé Knowles and are characterized by their passion for pop, rock'n'roll and country - all in the Cologne dialect. This mixture works brilliantly - even beyond the Rhineland borders, as they proved as the support band for Kasalla on their Germany tour in 2017.

With their song "Ich han dat Marieche jebütz" they were the first women's band to make a breakthrough at the Cologne carnival. On their debut album they dedicate themselves to deep and amusing stories, singing about love, friendship, the erotic thoughts of a snack bar owner, and the meaning of life. They gave their album the title "Darf et jet scharfer sin?" - an excerpt from their single "Jeckes Ding!" and meant to be quite provocative. Because they know that as a women's band they are still poaching in a male domain.

Their trademarks are vintage guitar sounds, slap bass and their penchant for choral singing. Vocally and visually they are a provocative mix between Destiny's Child and the Dixie Chicks.

In collaboration with the production team Adriano Batolba and Pomez di Lorenzo (including Sasha, Dick Brave, Boppin' B), the band combines five of their previously digitally only available singles with nine new compositions.
